  • What to wear & bring to camp:
At 3RD Space Kids, comfort and safety are top priorities. We recommend that children wear comfortable clothes and trainers to ensure an enjoyable camp experience. Please refrain from sending flip flops, crocs, or sandals as they might hinder active play. Electronic devices, including phones for older children, should be handed in upon arrival. Additionally, please send your child with a full set of spare clothes. Camp adventures can sometimes get messy or involve water play, so having spare clothes on hand ensures that your child is comfortable throughout the day. To be well-prepared, we also encourage you to check the weather forecast before sending your child to camp. In hot weather, consider providing a hat, short sleeve top, sun cream, and sunglasses. In colder weather, hats and scarves are a great addition to keep your child cozy.
  • Packed Lunch Suggestions:
To keep your child energized for a day full of activities, we recommend sending a packed lunch that's both satisfying and nutritious. As campers will be more active than usual, a larger lunch is suggested. Consider options like wraps, sandwiches, and pasta that provide sustained energy. We encourage healthy choices, and while we appreciate your creativity, please remember to avoid nuts in all lunch items. Please keep in mind that lunch boxes are not refrigerated, so packing ice blocks or frozen drinks can help maintain freshness. Let's work together to ensure that each child enjoys a nourishing meal that keeps them fueled and ready for adventure.
  • What NOT to bring:
For the safety and enjoyment of all campers, please refrain from sending any electronic devices, including phones (older children will hand them in upon arrival). Additionally, we kindly ask that children do not bring nuts or nut-based products, such as peanut butter, Nutella, or similar items, due to allergies. Thank you for helping us create a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Pre-Camp Arrival Forms:
We value your child's well-being and strive to provide the best possible care. If your child has any special educational needs (SEN) or a medical condition, we may require additional information. Our dedicated staff will guide you through the necessary pre-camp forms. If there are any missing details or specific forms, such as the "All About Me" form for ages 4-5 or for children with SEN, or if a medical form needs completion, our team is here to assist. Rest assured that we're committed to understanding and accommodating your child's unique needs. Your cooperation in completing the required forms helps us ensure a safe and tailored camp experience.
  • Does my child have a key worker?
Yes, at 3RD Space Kids, we believe in providing personalised attention and care. Each child will be assigned a dedicated Keyworker, who will also be their Group Leader throughout their camp experience. Your child's Keyworker will ensure their well-being and provide individualised support, fostering a sense of familiarity and comfort. When you arrive at camp, you'll be informed about your child's assigned Keyworker. You're welcome to reach out and communicate with their Keyworker at any time during the camp day. Feel free to contact us directly to arrange a conversation with your child's Keyworker. We're here to ensure a positive and engaging camp experience for your child.
  • How will my child be looked after and by who?
At 3RD Space Kids, we've designed our care and supervision approach with your child's safety and enjoyment in mind. We have three distinct age groups: Discoverers, Adventurers, and Challengers (Seniors coming next year). Our dedicated staff members are committed to ensuring your child's well-being throughout their camp experience. Discoverers: Each child will have a dedicated leader who will care for and engage with the same children all day. This ensures familiarity and a sense of security. Ratio 1:8 with a maximum group size of 24. Adventurers: Our Adventurers are guided by experienced leaders who oversee their well-being and lead engaging activities, creating a fun and secure environment. Challengers: The Challengers group enjoys the company of dedicated staff members who supervise, interact with, and facilitate activities for their group. Our staff members are equipped with extensive training, both in-person and online, covering essential areas such as safeguarding, first aid, welfare, activities, and fostering a joyful experience. Throughout the day, our vigilant staff conduct constant registers head counts, ensure regular toilet breaks, check water bottles, and oversee meal times to create a safe and structured environment. To further ensure security, our collection procedure requires grown-ups to present photo ID at the end of the day. This additional step adds an extra layer of protection for your child's safe release. Rest assured, at 3RD Space Kids, we prioritise your child's safety, well-being, and enjoyment, creating a positive and nurturing camp experience for all.
  • What happens when I drop my child off?
When you arrive at 3RD Space Kids, you'll find our designated check-in area where you can begin your child's camp experience with ease. Our friendly staff members are here to make the drop-off process quick and seamless. Check-In and Welcome: Follow the directional signs to our check-in area, where our team will great you and get your child signed in. If there are specific forms missing, like the "All About Me" form for ages 4-5 or for children with special educational needs (SEN), or if a medical form needs completion, our staff will guide you through the process. Activities and Settling In: During the time between arrival and check-in closing, we've got an array of engaging activities set up. Children can choose from activity stations featuring board games, coloring or crafts, LEGO building, and other free-choice activities tailored to early years. Getting Acquainted: As your child settles in, our welcome team will be on hand to help them find their way around, get comfortable, and meet new friends. Our team members will introduce themselves to your child, creating a welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone for an enjoyable day. Morning Welcome Announcement: Just before the day's activities commence, we have a morning welcome announcement. This is an opportunity for staff to outline the schedule, go over camp rules, and address any questions or concerns parents or children might have. With our well-structured drop-off process, engaging activities, and dedicated staff members, you can leave knowing that your child is in capable hands. At 3RD Space Kids, we're committed to making each child's camp experience safe, fun, and memorable.
  • Can I get feedback on my child's day?
Absolutely! We understand how important it is for parents to stay informed about their child's camp experience. At 3RD Space Kids, we're committed to keeping you in the loop and addressing any queries you might have. Personalized Communication: If you're curious about your child's day and would like to receive feedback, all you need to do is ask. Our dedicated Camp Manager is here to assist you. Whether you're dropping off or picking up, you can approach the Camp Manager to inquire about your child's day. Open Communication Channels: The Camp Manager can connect you with your child's Group Leader, who spends the day with them. They'll provide insights and highlights about your child's activities, interactions, and overall experience. Feedback Forms for Early Years: For our Discoverers, the key worker assigned to your child will fill out a feedback form summarising their day. This form will be sent home, giving you a snapshot of your child's camp adventure. In-Person and Phone Updates: We understand that parents might have moments of concern or curiosity throughout the day. If you're feeling anxious and would like an update, a quick phone call to the Camp Manager can offer reassurance and information about your child's progress. Scheduled Appointments: If you'd like to dive into a more detailed discussion about your child's experience, we're more than happy to arrange a scheduled appointment at your convenience. This ensures focused attention and a thorough understanding of your child's camp day. At 3RD Space Kids, communication is key, and we're here to provide you with the information you need to make your child's camp experience a positive and reassuring one.
